Hand-crafted custom and production drums from Portland, OR.
I love my Kirsch kit. They are by far the best drums I've ever owned. They record well, sound great live, feel amazing to play, and look incredible. Thank you Jeff for all you do.
There's a lot of talk about "your sound" in the drum industry. I've learned that my sound doesn't come from a brand. It comes from adjusting and adapting the drums with just a drum key. Your sound comes from being able to control and explore the possibilities of your kit. Proper bearing edges can dramatically open those possibilities. If you like your current drums but have had some tuning troubles or just feel like something is missing, we can help. On average, a complete kit service is cheaper than the price of re-heading a kit.

Each configuration of shell above is available with mixes of different woods. We definitely play around with the options and make small runs of interesting shells. We'll also regularly be building some of our models from cherry, oak, walnut, and others. Check out the store for what we've built recently.
Our livest and most versatile kit. Everything is represented. A full spectrum of highs, midrange, and lowest lows is available with open, booming sustain. With a rounded outside edge and sharp inside cut, the modern L bearing edge reliably tunes from paper low to singing high.
This thing is a beast. Modern M shells are foundry cast from molten aluminum brass or steel and machined to perfect diameter. Not recommended for folks with bad backs or sensitive ears.
Inspired by the 1979 RC that got me started. Built from a thinner birch shell with a fully rounded and polished bearing edge, this design gives a solid punch with a meaty attack. The combination of birch wood and a lot of contact between shell and head creates a shorter sustain and a natural gate. This fatter contact patch uses the shell as the sustain control by absorbing the energy into the shell. That energy activates the shell, adding a fat, woody analog tone.
3ply shells with a poplar core ply with outer and inner plies of maple and/or mahogany. These thin shells strengthened with reinforcement rings and cut with fat rounded edges, authentically reproduce that classic 40s to 60s era sound.
Modeled after the Jasper shells that rocked the 70s and 80s. Built with thin plies of maple with matching thickness reinforcement rings and rounded outside edges. These rings are not just glued on like modern ringed drums. They're installed using a compression fit method to create an outward tension that responds to the head's inward tension. These shells are crisp, clear, and loud without the wild overtones, producing a dynamic and responsive touch, giving you a full palette of tones to explore.
Based on the classic thicker ply maple and gum shells. The first quality shell didn't require reinforcement rings. An articulate and warm shell that's become a legend in every style of music. Along with full round and 30-degree edges, you'll think you're playing Tony or Mitch's old kit.
Built with spun shells in steel, aluminum, brass, copper, bronze, and stainless, there's a lot of tonal possibilities. This type of snare was being built before the drum kit existed and it's still as relevant as ever.
